Club Service Projects

The Rotary Club of Coronado conducts service projects across Rotary International's five Avenues of Service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, Youth Service, and International Service. We are able to finance our service projects with the following fundraising activities:

  1. Member Pledges
  2. Coronado Rotary Charity Golf Tournament
  3. Low Tide Ride & Stride
  4. End Polio Now Wine Tasting

Poinsettia's for Spouses During the holidays our club delivers Poinsettia Plants to widows of club members.
Flags On The Avenue And Other Special Events Coronado Rotarians place over 180 American flags in the Orange Avenue median on patriotic American holidays. We also put up the flags when one of the three Aircraft Carriers home ported at Naval Air Station North Island returns from extended deployments.

Annual Sailor of The Year (SOY) and Coronado Employee of The Year (EOY) Recognition

Each year, our club invites the Naval Station Coronado SOY and Coronado’s EOY to a weekly meeting for lunch and expressions of appreciation by our membership.

Annual Rotary Family Holiday Party Rotarians and their families enjoy a festive holiday luncheon at the Hotel del Coronado. Santa even drops by to deliver gifts to our children and grandchildren!
Christmas Eve Santas Each year, the Coronado Fire Department collects gifts for local children and on Christmas Eve, 15 Rotarians dress up as Santa Claus to deliver them. Parents taking advantage of this program are asked to also provide an unwrapped gift for children who otherwise might not enjoy the Christmas holidays.

Rotarians At Work Day This annual, worldwide, Rotary event was initiated by a former member of our club and epitomizes our motto of "Service Above Self". Rotarians fall out to provide hands-on work for projects that benefit the community. Our club has supported San Pasqual Academy, the YMCA's Camp Surf in Imperial Beach, Coronado Schools and other community projects.

Beach Cleanup

Once a month our members scour different sections of our beautiful beaches to preserve one of our most precious natural resources. We meet at Central Beach at 8:00 AM on the second Saturday of each month.
